    Probably not... fish in general dont normally last that long in captivity.

    I don't know about that as a blanket statement. I know of several people that have had certain fish for 10-15 years. Now pertaining to MI's, they have very special nutritional needs, that unfortunately nobody has completely figured out. Even if they do eat in captivity, that does not mean they will live very long.


    fwiw, someone said MI's get very large, and don't live long in captivity due to that . They are small in comparison to some tangs that get well over 1.5 feet.

    Well this is fun. :lol:

    Our Aquarium here has a MI they've had for YEARS. And I've seen tangs much larger than him. They actually don't get too big in comparison to other fish we see in this hobby.

    Sometimes people get a special MI that can live for a while. But most of them are just not meant for captivity and I highly recommend not keeping one in the home aquarium.
