I set up a 10 gallon nano tank up in my dorm room. I put 2 clown fish in it and a Condy enemone. The clown fish have been in for about a week, and the anemone for 3 days now. I can not find one of the two clown fish. He was swimming funny and i had a feeling he was going to kick the bucket. I moved all the rock around and hes nowhere to be found. I have not fed the anemone yet, is it possible that he ate the clownfish?
Should i be worried about my amonia or nitrites spiking because i canf find the dead fish in such a small tank?

Was your clown weak in any way? I guess it could of fallen in but i don't know! All clownfish are born with a slime coat that allowes them to slide right through the tentacles. Is it open top? Could have jumped out!

the tanks been set up for about 3 months now. I am planning on transfering every thing in my nano tank to my seventy five gal when i move home in may. doesnt look like he jumped out, i dont see him on the floor. He looked very week, as soon as i got him home from the pet store i knew he didnt look too good.

is it possible that a week clownfish can fall victim to an anemone?

i think it may have been to soon to put all that into your tank i would retest the water and see what i get as far as niyrates and nitrites and ammonia IMO also it could have died and the anemone could have eten him then im guessing here though?

the dead clownfish is in the anemones tenticles... Maybe he died, and then ended up in the anemone? half the fish is gone now... is the anemone eating the clownfish? or did it just end up in there by chance?

condy anemones can eat things that are twice their size, i had one, one of my first anemones as usual that ate my yellow tang, they are very agressive and move alot. but most hobbyists are atracted to them by the low 8 dollar price. they dont need particularly large tanks or bright light b ut i would suggest at least a 20 gallon and at least power compact lights. also your tank is too young for an anemone, any anemone should wait at least a year before inttroducing to a mature tank.
