    Fletch,

I understand wanting to stay out of this post. Things should not be like this though. When danger is a common thing why is it everyone else has to suffer. I dont go and put my family in a house on top of a volcano because that is only looking for trouble. Just like everyone in southern America why live where you know your home will be leveled soon and heaven help us you lose a love one just because you want to live by the water.

I don't think its a matter of wanting to live by the water so much that they put their lives at risk. It's more of an issue of not wanting to just up and leave when you have a long connection and possibly have loved ones in an area! Not everyone is comfortable just up and leaving a place where they have lived their whole life.

All I have to say is that a bit of compassion goes a LONG way! The only people I have a problem with and have very little sympathy for are those who stayed to loot and take advantage of the situation! Other than that, I have no problem helping those who need the help, as I would hope to expect the same if I was in a similar situation!

Now that this post has gotten way off topic...I think Matt should put an end to it before someone goes off the deep end and says something they later regret!

Just to educate you a bit - Hurricane deductibles are usually 2% to 5% of the insured value per storm, not per year. In our case, it is 3%. That's a bit more that $500 or $1,000.

You remember that when you get into an auto accident and my auto insurance premium jumps up even though I have never one single traffic citation. You are beginning to talk non-sense. Every single person in this country, in one way or another, pays for every other person. Be it Federal/state income taxes, sales taxes, etc. Stop thinking that you are the only one being prodded to cough up the cash to cover the rest of the nation.

As a nation, we are all in this together. Just like a marriage - for better or for worse. As Homer Simpson once said, "If you don't like, go to Russia!" ;)

Great now I am being schooled by some one who quotes Homer Simpson.

That is what I am trying to get across, why is it that every year the American people have to fork over more and more money every year to people that dont learn the first time something bad happens because of there location or situation they put them selfs in.
