New System

Hey All, I'm generally new to the saltwater world. I already have two tanks a 50 gallon and a 75 gallon. However my boss wants to sell me all his tanks and equipment but he told me to work out a price for everything. His system includes: a 4*4*2 Tank w/ Filtration, A large queen Angel and 2 Trigger fish. Three tanks 4*2*1 w/filtration and Three more tanks 5*1*1 w/ filtration. I want to buy this system because I want to open my own marine fish shop here in Trinidad. Cold someone please give me an approximate price one would pay for a system like this? BTW, All filters and other equipment are DIY Tasks.

Most stores I have seen do not have that many filters. It may be cheaper for you in the long run to simply purchase tanks without filters and plumb tham altogether using one or two large sumps.

as for what you listed is worth, without seeing things first hand I have no idea.

 

Thanks for the response Crimson. Well, there are only 3 large sumps. One one the 4*4*2, one for the three 4*2*1 and one for the three 5*1*1. I'll try to get some pictures up. It's a relatively simple set up and filters as well as skimmers are all home made. I prefer to buy it from him instead of from the store because everything in Trinidad is like 300% above what you guys pay for equipment and supplies in the US and as a college student, need less to say, my budget is tight and he's allowing me to pay him over some period of time.

 

Sounds like you might be able to work a good deal plus with it spread over time is even better. You are a college student and looking to open your own store - good for you !

 

Thanks. It has always been a dream of mine to open my own shop since I got my first aquarium at around age 6 and now, it's shaping up to be true. I just need to build some capital. I already have a huge client database because I do tank servicing on the side when I'm not at school.

 

Ok so I gave him an offer- TT$10,000 for his system equivalent to US$1587.30. I have some big news coming soon. (I Hope)
