    hey guys me again......this time a lighting?.........just set up my new t5 54w lights and timer.......how long should i set the timer for...i have a 55gal reef tank with a zoa and mushroom coral frag any sugestions:-/

    I keep mine going from 6am to 8pm with a moonlight at night

    ha ha hood floresent bought these used i bought new bulbs for it there is only 2 though

    how many bulbs? id run them for six hours for a week or so then bump up the time

    I have my lights on from 4pm to 11 pm with moon lights 24/7

    ok so i got abasic 8 hour time....so what exactly are moon lights is it a diy project or do i have to go buy special lighst

    "moonlights" are usually LED lights that are either built into the light fixture or is something you can purchase and install separately. the main purpose of them is to give your tank a more natural lighting with day and night lighting. it isnt something you must have(however many corals need it) but it is something to look into getting. it also provides you with a way to view your tank and nocturnal critters at night.
