I like the 29g Oceanic, nice choice. The refractometer is expensive in the LFS I bought one brand new on ebay for about $25. Otherwise welcome to our house!

So I really don't need any additives? As long as I carry out my water changes, of course?
I have alot to learn still... If any of you have a YIM account or Facebook... Look me up...

I wouldn't use the koralia nano, not much flow,I have one in a 15gal. tank and it's just enough.A koralia 1 might be better, two of them better yet.

How much flow would I need? I would eventually like to grow lps and sps and some soft corals with some inverts...

how about a heater? I recommend a stealth, unless the tank comes pre-packaged with one.

I would also recommend a maxi-jet 1200 to help pre-mix saltwater for water changes & an extra heater for that also. I use a smaller 200w stealth and the MJ 1200, throw them in a 5g bucket and let it mix overnight before water changes.

I would not start dosing anything until you have the correct test kits and the tank has had time to mature a bit. Start as a FOWLR and then start moving to corals as your tank establishes itself and you are ready for it. You can grab an API Saltwater Master test kit to monitor basic initial params (PH,AM,NI,NA) and then when you're ready you can get Salifert test kits for Calcium, Alkalinity, Magnesium & Phosphate.

BTW I see you live in Ogden, I used to live in Layton, my father was stationed at Hill AFB, is it still there?

Hill AFB will always be in Utah... Where else would they move it to? I figured that with the 150 Watt MH I wouldn't need a heater but possibly a chiller...

For most softies and LPS you don't need a lot of flow,in a 29cube you might be ok with one powerhead aimed at the front glass.I've never owned a biocube but alot of others on this site have, maybe they will jump in with some more advise. For SPS you need lots of turbulant flow,40-50 times your tank volume.
