"New" Tank Thread

So I realized I haven't heard from you in months... then I look in your profile and see this thread that I missed (suscribed now)... and also that you logged on today (must not be posting much which is unacceptable!!) so what is up??? How about an update?!?! With pics of course!! I hope everthing is going well...

 

What's up, Shehan?!? I log on daily for the most part. I don't post as much, but I'm still in the game.

Unfortunately, of my 3 remaining fish, (the two cardinals and the clown); the clown has gotten uncharacteristically violent and has killed the cardinals. The second one died just today. Now my tank has only one fish.

Because of their aggression; I haven't owned a damselfish since I went reef--As most of us know, clowns are close relatives of damsels.

I'm thinking I might go the same route with clowns too. (Like never owning one again). My last clown, a huge maroon that died in my truck accident (driving him to the LFS for a trade) got suddenly territorial and began to abuse all the other fish in the tank.

I really loved those two cardinals.

I'll get another pair. I think I'll pull this clown and perhaps never visit them again.

Sounds like your in the same tank stage as me... more seems to be going wrong than good:-/. We will both get it figured out with some persistence...

 

Glad to see you here.....even if it's just once in a while. Is your clown a maroon? If so, just ditch the species. Or genus for that matter...as they so different to even classify as Amphiprion.

 

The current one is a percula.

 

Hey Sparky!! very glad you are still going strong! Tank is looking as good as a cycling tank can get can't believe all that you went through and yet you still have the patience to pursue the hobby further... if that makes sense ;D

 

I've never had bad luck with percula clowns. Keep at it buddy and good luck on getting your license!
