I started off with a full set just like that one...the only thing from that full set-up that I am using is the tank itself. Lesson learned.

Okay, so I saw the Biocube in the "flesh" had only seen it online...Does anyone have feedback on it??? I have read mixed reviews online...perhaps someone could give me a brief synopsis of how it works etc...will I need to modify anything if I purchased it?

alot of people have issues with the ballasts dying and the filtration requires some mods to do it's job effectivly, if you want to look at a nano either look at the JBJ nanocubes or the red sea max
the RSM has T5 lighting and good filtration with a protein skimmer or you can get a JBJ with either PC or MH hoods or you can buy a hoodless one and add a MH/T5/PC fixture to it yourself.

nanotuners is a great site for all the nano parts

Thanks Iraf...I know I really like the RSM in fact I have called around to about all one hundred pet stores here in houston and not one carries them... :(

I have read reviews about things failing on bio cubes however I guess I was just hoping it was a rare scenario :(

So nano cube huh??? What is the largest Nano cube sold? Did you have to make any mods to yours?

Foster and Smith has a complete Red Sea set up including stand for a pretty decent price. Only thing is its the PC version,
which works really well. Best part of it is according to their website its only 17.99 shipping to 77002 which is a Houston zip code.

    Wow Gazog!

    Aren't you helpful :)

    Thanks a lot!!!!

So what's the Difference between the PC version and the other?

I know that the original has the T5 lighting, is that not the case for the PC version?

I noticed that the initial version was about 750...and the PC is about 799 for the full set up...

My father in law's mechanic shop is next door to the fish ranch 2 in houston, they had a RSM last time I was in, great prices to when I go down for texans games I usually hit that place up and buy corals and bring them home with me on the drive great selection but I was told they changed ownership lately so hopefully they don't suck now.

The only change I made to my 24g JBJ is I added a Hydor koralia 1 and changed the default carbon sack for a bigger one, I think both changes cost about $50 and that is including a 6 month supply of carbon.

You can get up to a 28g JBJ with a MH fixture, IMO it's a better tank than even the RSM since it's a skimming setup as well but everyone has an opinion on it. As far as out of the box the RSM is the best nano on the market it really doesnt need any mods or changes at all.
