I was finally able to add life to my tank recently. I have a 10 gallon tank with 20 lbs of live rock and 2.5 inch sand bed. Current inhabitants are a Percula Clown, a Chocolate Chip Starfish, and 2 hermits. I will be getting a turbo snail or 2 in a little while to help with algae and such. Here are some pics of my tank so far.

Lighting is just 2 of those little flourescent bulbs from walmart so far. Dont have the money for high priced lighting right now, so no corals for me as of yet :( Also, read that wont really need a skimmer for a 10 gallon but if I am wrong let me know. 10 gallon hang on back filter and one powerhead cant remember the exact gallon per hour it puts out but the box said it was good for a 30 gallon tank.

you dont have to upgrage the lights. you cant have coral with that starfish in there, they are not reef/coral safe. besides your tank is too small for one n e ways!

there are small enough fixtures to fit that tank trust it would be to your benefit to have one you could go a lot more routs with one.But not needed as far as the start nice lookin but if you wan corals then not good. Also a skimmer is wise in such a small tank because since the volume of water is so small changes in the perameters are more drastic. So skimming would be good and a small clean up crew. But it wont cost you to much to get it right just take your time and read up a lot on it

Nice setup. The only thing I would add is a skimmer it won't be long and you will have algae blooms. I thought that I could go with out a skimmer on my first tank and man I was wrong. They do make small enough skimmers for nano tanks and they are not badly priced either. Just look around. karma for the starter
