I've got a new 2-feet tank now (around 9000 litres). After putting in my salt water, what else must i do? All kinds of medicine?

And how often do i have to change my water?

U need to add sand, LR and filtration. Then buy a test kit and wait for it to cycle.

My advice is before doing anything...read one or more of the plethora of marine books that will nicely introduce you to the wonderful marine hobby!
Then after you get some sort of grasp on the setting up of your own marine aquarium including, but not limited to, equipment, water parameter issues and maybe some of the biological aspects of the hobby. You can then be better able to introduce some livestock and get your tank up and running! I am in no way trying to downplay your desire and excitement to getting started, it is just that their is alot riding on your actions, knowledge and abiltiy to be proactive as well as rective in a timely manner to ensure that you have a thriving and successful aquarium filled with living animals that rely on your actions.
Good luck to you and welcome to 3reef!

be shure all your salt is desalved this is very important also after puting in sand that you let it settle and uncloud......this could take hours or togather up to days then add your live rock. make shure your final structure of live rock is very sturdy cause as you will see some creatures pick up, knock over, plow thru atc. after you put in your live rock you need to decide if it will be reef and coral or fish and creature. you might want to take this into concideration when you are putting your rock in also. good luck and keep us updated and don't be shy when asking 4 help

:book2::)Like reefer said... there is too much info to put on one post thread like this.. You need to get a book and/or read about setting up an aquarium on the net.
Welcome to the reef... when you have some more specific questions there's a lot of people here willing to help.

Echoing those before me, read read read. The book I got when I first entered the hobby was The Conscientious Marine Aquarist by Robert M. Fenner.

At the very least put in an inch or two of live sand (aragonite) and get some base rock. If you are starting a reef tank, you are going to want about 1.75lbs of rock per gallon. You don't need to get this all at once. But get started. Then wait for it to cycle (which takes about 8 to 12 weeks. During that time, read up on your new hobby and search through the forums for information.

    Peace......and good luck. John.
