    also I would lower my temp to about 79-80, 83 is kinda high(IMO) lowering it will help out with your algae problems as well.

    I would stop using frozen for the everyday meal. For that I would use a good quality flake. Use the frozen stuff only as a treat or on occasion.

    You say you're using a wet/dry. You wouldn't happen to be using bio-balls would you? If you are there's the problem. If you are get rid of them.

    I thought of something else. How often are you changing you media? Might you have a piece of filter material stuck somewhere that might not be readily visible?

    to reduce the nitrate do water chang 5% per week lighting for your tank it shuld not go more than 10 hrs per day as long as you dont have hard coral & keep your filter media alwayse cleen becuse of frozen food produse more waste than fllake or dry .

    Edit: Whenever I see a post like this I think of the wishing well. You know, when someone, usually a drunk or a kid, thinks it cute to toss some change into the tank. Like a penny.

    yes I have bio balls in wet dry, I will start removing a handful at a time, I believe you hit the nail on the head. Thanks.

    I'd take them out all at once plus a few back to back water changes(2-3 days)! glad to help.
