    Hi everyone. I am so glad to find this site. I am going to start a salt tank sometime in the future. Should I find someone locally to get some help with this or could I just order from online and get the info from here and the web to make me sucesfull?

    Hello Swimmer and welcome to 3reef!! I would ask as many questions here as I could, and read as much as you can before you start on your tank. Make sure you know what you want and why you want it, before you go and spend hard earned money on it! Un/fortunately you can learn from some of us!

    We are glad you found way here also. Ask as many questions as you like here. Come up with a good plan and check it out with us. LFS's may or may not always looking out for your best interests. :-/

    Welcome to 3reef. Please do ask question before you spend money. Some places are out for a sale and others are not so beware.
    If you are getting a tank make sure it is reef ready and drilled for overflows. It will make things a lot easier in the long run.

    be sure to get new books.many reef tanks have made big advances.some reef keeping methods are now outdated.
