    Welcome to 3reef. I think starting with the predator tank then going to a reef after getting the care routine down is the way to go.

    As far as a predator selection what could I put with a lionfish I've read some triggers but I've been tolby my LFS that I could put anything in that the lion can't fit in it's mouth and I can't say that I believe that 100%

    So here's what I'm thinking start a FOWLR than make it into a reef .... I'm looking at selling my 55gal and using that money and the money from the 125 I was gunna buy to buy a 200gal if I buy the best protien skimmer and basically set it up as a reef aquarium but just use it as a FOWLR how hard is it to switch to reef?

    easy, buy base/live rock, start testing/dosing calc n mag, get rid of coral eating fish and add coral!

    What if I buy a tank that doesn't have an overflow what are my other options
