I just got a yellow tank and am amazed at the crevices it can fit into. This morning when i was checking my tank i was like were the heck is tang. Then it popped out of a little crevice about 1"x3". I was looking for him on the floor ;D

Ill post pics later if he decides to come out.

Are you suppose to have a slight ammonia spike when you add a new fish? I checked it just because i was curious and it seems theres some in the tank.

Yes, you can expect a small ammonia spike but it should only take a day or so to drop.

So, where are those pics you mentioned? ;D

Yellow Tangs are notorious for deficating so you may notice a small amount of ammonia and nitrites in your water. Effeicient water filtration chemically, biologically and mechanically will help to rid this along with a water change.

You got to remember this tank is as much mine as it is my fathers (im 18.), My tank is going to its 8th week already and the parameters seem stable to me. I understand your concern and definitely respect your opinion considering you know your stuff and have been around in this hobby for a while.

    Thank you

IBMGeek, take it really slow at this point. It's your 8th week, don't add anymore fish for a while to eliminate more spikes. I made the boo boo of adding two fish at once and I had a good spike and lost a clown due to it. Just enjoy watching the tang and plan whats next till you can add more. I know it's boring and ya wanna get going with the tank but just be cautious.

Ok heres a quick shot of the tank, He sees me coming and he darts inside the rockwork. The tang is alot nicer than the chromis, adds more color to the tank. No more fish for at least 1 month maybe 1.5. Does anybody know of a Tank lid with locks. Got to keep my dad from sticking things in there ;D.
