newbie here

these are about the only corals i dont have in my tank. i have 2 atm. had them for a few months now and they are finally growing. when i got them i got a total of 4 and 2 of them died. dont know why. had them same spot in tank. heres my tank. i have a 55g and MH lighting at 716w 2 pwrheads.
my lighting is 11inches from top of the tank.

where should i put these corals once i get them? how should i care for these? any special equipment needed?

 

What are your Ca, Mg, alk, NO3 and PO4 levels?

Did you acclimate the corals to your lighting?

there are many factors that can influence how any particular coral reacts in your aquarium
the same applies for all corals to a degree , the difference with SPS corals, is that the tolerances are lower

stability promotes success is the oft quoted mantra when dealing with SPS corals
keeping things stable
avoiding any major changes in temp, water quality (including changes that are designed to improve things) and lighting (including acclimatising to your lighting by starting low and moving up)

 

forgot this thread srry. my water prams are where they should be. getting them use to the lite? im not sure. i thought i did it rite but not sure.


i only have the left 2. a fish knocked off the rite. they are at the half point and around 20inches away from my lites. since i have so many watts can they be at the bottom?
