I want to make sure it's not the culapra thats went asexual. Thank you in advanced.

    Nope not calpura.

    Is it ferny in appearance, I can not tell from the images.

    Thanks for looking. A few of the strands look fern like, the rest look like straight up, like dry straw.

    Looks to be a form of Bryopsis algae I think.

    Yes unfortunately Bryopsis. Get some Kent Tech M Magnesium and raise the Mag. level in your tank to 1550-1600.:cry:

    You can actually raise it higher but I was always afraid to go much higher and 1600 worked for me.Be sure to use the Kent because it for some reason works better then other Mag supplements.

    Ok sweet I'll try that, just ordered some. How long did you keep it high? Before it went away?

    I saw results in a couple of days!! I was amazed at how well and quickly this worked. It is hard to estimate how long this will be required my advice is to keep it up there at least a week after it has dissapeared. Then you will want to look into your maintenance schedule and find the root cause of the algae otherwise it will return. Good luck and be sure to post your results.;)8)
