I have a Tomini too; can be a bit aggressive sometimes, but it's actually a useful dynamic. He'll push the clowns back into their corner if they get too pushy.

As for the lubbocki or melanurus, either/both would be fine. And both are rather affordable. I hear the desire for something more rare (and prettier), but that literally comes with a price.

One thing you may want to note on C. lubbocki; they come in two varieties:

    Typical

    But also this

And females are boring (but a bit hard to come by):

On a similar note with the melanurus, it's easy to tell sex-

    Male
    [IMG]

    Female

The only thing with a melanurus is, you'll occasionally lose some CUC members to them (snails & hermits).

Awesome evolved, thanks as usual for all your help! I'm locking this tank down for sure so I dont have to worry about anymore jumpers.

I told him to hold the melanarus as long as it was male, and I told him if the lubbock has awesome colors to hold it for me, otherwise, he's gonna look for me for a few weeks for one of the fairies I want. He's also gonna get me a bartlett trio if he can find a male and 2 females. sometimes I really wish I lived closer to a big city;)

IME, Bartlett's are difficult to keep them as female; they easily transition and you end up with all males. :/

Ugh, Ok, read they were the hardiest and easiest. HMMMM, so back to the drawing board for that.

    Lyretail?
    Dispar?

give up on the ANthias? I basically want a semi schooling free swimming fish.

    All ideas are welcome;)

I went through the same thing.... Looking to find a cool schooling fish and settled with bartletts. Then I gave up on schooling fish altogether because I am finding it very hard to find a good trio.

Yeah, I know, try living in Southeastern Ohio and getting odd things. I'm giving my LFS another shot at earning my business, so we wil see.

I'm kinda liking the tomini, but afraid of an Ich situation.
