I have a Traxxas Revo 4X4 it i love it! Never had a problem with it. You just have to follow the directions on maintence to the T! Break in is very important! And just put the after-run oin in the motor when its gonna sit. Nitro is on the expensive side, but like with a regular car, you have to maintain it.
CHeck youtube for cool videos. I just picked up the electric Slash brushless 4X4. Talk about insane speed right out of the box!

The only dune buggy would be the 1/5 th hpi baja..big bulky needs mods to go fast..many option in the truggy are. Traxxas revo(moded to a truggy)or revo platnum(no mods needed).hpi..kyosho inferno..ofna...or you could go with a kyosho mp777 or ofna hyper 7 or 8..all of those will giv u all the speed and power u could want....I have a revo done up a nitro rustler and a thunder tiger ducati motorcylce...HTH..

Always been into electric, for a very long time now. Had a few nitro just always seemed to click better with the electric stuff. I have 1/18 18t brushless, so fast you can't even control it, also have an old rc 10, and a savage. If you want insane speed brushless w/ lipo battery is the way to go. With all the advances and the right bat. Motor and gear ratio, your run times can be as long as a nitro.
Check out the brushless revo and the brushless hpi savage flux

I have a traxxas jato with just the 2.5 in it and it is pretty fast. We taped a gps system to it to check the speed and it 45mph. The ones with the 3.3 will do 65mph+. The only problem is they are jus 2wd but I havent had a problem with running in dirt or on the street its just grass where they are slow. Would this be your first rc car?

I have a revo and an rc10 gt. I love the stadium truck a ton as the motor I upgraded is huge so now it moves but the revo is just a do anything go anywhere truck. As many stated there is just something about the sound of 40,000 rpms running down the street that just brings out the neighborhood.
