I have been working on my system now for over 2 months and I just installed a new pump on my system, the question that i have is this: I have always had a vibration sound i guess do to using PVC piping from the pumps all the way to the tank, Now if i take out a small section of PVC from the pumps and replace it with hose that then connects to the PVC will that reduce the noise level????

I'm not sure if that would reduce noise level. However, you might try putting in some sort of foam to absorb noise. Just kind of line your cabinet with it.

I think what is happening is the noise is just vibrating through the PVC, So i was just curious if i was to use some regular hose from the pump, then connect it to the PVC if that would reduce it, I think the hose will absorb it, wouldn't you think???

Hose will help a little, but I was still getting vibration will all hose when I did a test run. I have a similar issue with my system. Just as LCP136 suggested with foam. I have the same issue, but it's coming from the bottom of the stand where this is a gap between the botton & the floor. Before I finish my setup, I'm going fix that area with foam. In your case, I'd place it under your sump.

I would use both. Put a mouse pad under the pump and then use flex tube to absorb the rest.

Providing it's an external pump. My return pump has rubber suction cups & still getting vibration. He might be getting a resonating noise "as a ported box" from under his stand. Same problem I had. If his pump is in his sump he'll have to insulate under his sump, the whole sump.. The hard exterior insulation about an 1" thick that they use for homes should work or a rubber matting.

Well I went ouy wna got the right fittings and hose and got a rubber mouse pad w/o any graphics.lol, and cut out sections of PVC around both my pumps and put the pad in and it made a world of differance, I would def recommend this way to any body wanting to use PVC. the only thing I hear now is just the water trickling into my fuge and water coming out of my return.......VERY HAPPY NOW

thanks for all the advice guys
