Admin note: I have to highlight nomad's foam work in this build:

    See more below...

I started this build because my cousin cracked my 55 (wasnt mad cause it gave me an excuse to my fiancee to upgrade). But under the circumstances I went to craigslist and founds a beat up reef ready 125.

Was beat up and had alot of calcium build up on it. After 4 days of scrubbing and scraping it started looking like the way a tank should look like.

After it was cleaned up and the background painted on.I researched on the pond foam/live rock back ground. So I got all the materials to do it and jumped in.

After 3 days of working on the panels they were ready to be siliconed in.The top picture I found a nice statue that I thought would look nice if I made it look like it was part of the rock work.By the way Those lights I bought on ebay. They started smoking so I sent them back and ordered new ones from a different source. Also went ahead and ordered 180# of pure white sand.

After I let the diy background cure put the sand in.Started adding my live rock and as of now using my 48" t5 and 24"t5(from my refugium) until my new lights arrive.

Ahh the refreshing sign of life. After my cycle was complete I started adding my corals and fish from my 55.Feeling very accomplished and happy.Have a my protein skimmer and led lights coming in this week.

Fantastic job with the foam. That is really realistic. Can you post close ups of that?
