What kind of nudibranch is this? I popped him into my tank along with a rock of zoos. Later on, all my zoos closed, and they still havnt opened weeks later...Also, I saw my nudibranch but a polyp of my pulsating xenia in its mouth. then moved on. Now Im freaking out, i dont want this thing to eat all my coral. Is he eating my coral, or am I just trippin?

Welcome to 3reef!!!!!! Not sure on the ID of the nudibranch. It does resemble a "zoa eating nudibranch" though. The fact that it ate a piece of your xenia is an indication that it should be removed and banished to sump/fuge/fish store/garbage.:)

Could be a zoa eating nudi. You don't want one of those. IMO, nudibranchs that you don't specifically buy for your tank do not belong. They are too risky. I would get it out.

Also, I'm not sure if he ate the polyp (it stayed closed when it came out of the mouth, and is still closed) or just sucked on it or something. Now that I say that, it sounds ridicules. Ill take him out.

It's a nudibranch, but not in the same family as the normal zoa-eating nudis. It's either a bornellid, a dendronotid, or tritonid. Whichever it is, it most likely feeds on soft corals.

You can search through the families on the Sea Slug Forum if you like, under suborder Dendronotina. It will be in that suborder.

I can't tell enough detail from the pics to nail it down, but it looks similar to Bornella calcarata (which also looks similar to the other Bornella species.

Yeah, if it's not him, it's a close relative. I can't really tell if yours has the same pattern on its back from the pics, but the shape and structure certainly look the same.

    Cheers,

    Don
