I have been struggling with hair algae for some time now, and I have a chance to start over. I recently purchased an 80 gal. tank and my neighbors are getting out of the business. They sold me around 60 lbs of assorted Fufi and Tonga rock, a pair of clownfish, a blue green chormis and a 6 line wrasse. As well as a huge amount of star polyp, 8-10 metallic green mushrooms, xenia, a bunch of cabbage leather, and several other types of mushrooms. Oh, and a butt load of bubble algae and aipataisa! ::) All for the tidy price of $200!! Other than the aiptasia and the bubble algae, their rock is clean.

I dropped all their stuff into the 80 gal, and it is doing well. I would like to start adding my rock and get everthing into the larger tank. Should I scrub my rock down really well with a new scrub brush, and add it a little at a time, or should I do whatever it is that one does to kill the rock back to base rock? I have about 45 lbs of Fuji rock of my own

Me I would nuke the rock and start fresh. I never like adding some else problems to my tank.

+1 to that. Same reason I won't purchase live rock or sand in the first place ;)
