My hang-on back protein skimmer overflowed this morning making a mess. The last two days I've had trouble with this unit and it's driving me nuts. Water change was done two weeks ago and the only thing added to the tank is frozen mysis shrimp with garlic extreme. There is no adjustment and now I'm leery of leaving the house just waiting for a mess to come home to. Does anyone know how to get this guy under control? Had it for three months.

    Thanks.

Seems to be a lot of overflowing skimmers today... Gel binder in frozen food is notorious for making skimmers go crazy. Sometimes the manufacture adds too much. Have you used this batch of food, previously or is it a new batch? I just responded to another thread on this for ReefBruh, you may want to see that.

I would leave it off for the time being. You don't want a bigger headache after all.
    Did you dose anything lately?

new problem, well not a problem but I'm frustrated as hell.
Two months ago I was told that the bubbles from the return pipe would stop spitting out bubbles once it acclammated and the "newness" wore off (plastic/epoxy residue). Well no luck and it's driving me nuts. I do use the blue sponge that came with my octopus skimmer and it helps a little.
What have you guys used and can you post pictures?
    Thanks.
