    Hi,
I do not mean to hijack. I was looking for information on a skimmer I recently purchased off of c-list and other than it being a "REEF OCTOPUS" brand skimmer. I have no idea what model it is or tank size. I am hoping someone can advise me or atleast point me in the right direction. Here is a pick.... Thanks.

I have the octo NWB110 2010 model on my 57gal in a 20gal sump. I think it works very well. It's easy to set up and to keep clean.

For the guys with the octopus how loud is the skimmer? Reason is my coralife skimmer is loud hoping to bring down the sound.

The reef octo is very quite. There are actually little white rubber pads on the bottom of the skimmer pump which really cuts down on the vibration. But very quiet over all!

You do have the airline in a baffle right? Man, they can be loud without one or with a poor one, especially during the first 2 week or so break in period.
I am getting the SRO 3000INT for a 225 build I am working on. Without hesitation. ASM is obviously a great skimmer as well, since their basic design has been super efficient from their introduction. I think on the whole, the ASM-G series are great skimmers. It was a G-4 or the 3000INT for me, and I went with the Octopus myself.

I have a reef octopus NWB-200 on my personal 120g, a super reef cone skimmer on my sps system at the store, and a asm g-3 on another system at the store. I have wholesale access to all of three of them so I have very little incentive in reviewing all three.

I would personally say that the ASM G-3 and the Super Reef Cone Skimmer are neck and neck. They are not on the same system so it is not a completely fair comparison but not enough of a separation between the two to make up for the $300 price difference.
