    I just bought a 48'' odyssea light for $25 and it works great i was just wondering a little bit about the life span of the bulbs about how long should i go before replaceing them.

    Decent, well cooled lamps can do quite sometime BUT the kicker is how long you run them... Brands such as UVL or ATI or Giesemann typically recommend replacing them after 4500 hrs of use so if you run them 8 hrs a day you could get 18 months out of them if you are like most and run 12+ hours you are looking at about a year.

    Reef Geek has the best prices on ATI, as they are the sole importer of them.

    they are compact florecent bulbs dont mind my bad spelling lol

    A good schedule for PC's is every 6-9 months. If you bought the light used you should replace them right off the bat.
    You could do some searching for the bulbs, but they are pretty close to the same price no matter where you go. Just get them from whatever source you trust ;)

    I use to change my PC's every yr, but your corals will let you know when its time to change.

    pc bulbs arent cheap usually around 50 bucks a bulb here
