Well as some of you know I've had issues aquascaping and my LR downright sucks XD so i have a solution to that but I'm not exactly sure how to put it into effect. I'd like to get about 20-25 pounds of Caribbean reef rock from reefcleaners which I believe is $50 or something around that range, but I have about 23 lbs of LR which cost me like $200. So my dad probably won't let me get more rock because he'll think it'll be too much; my plan would be to keep like 2 pieces of LR and "seed" the dry rock so that bacteria can grow on it and it can become LR itself. Then theres the rest of the rock which I have no idea what to do with, so I'm kind of at a loss of what to do. Any suggestions? Also, the LR isnt very natural looking either so the tank doesn't look very appealing to the eye :-/

Try and sell the rest on here. I'm seeding my dry rock with a few live rock pieces and its exploded with coralline! Gotta love nature.

Give it time and let nature do its thing. Once you get corals (if you do) it will look even more beautiful.

hmm not a bad idea but I dont think someone would actually pay what I payed to get all this rock; for some reason 20-25 lbs of live rock for $200 sounds expensive, but would that actually be an okay price? I honestly felt ripped off by my LFS

You could probably put some in your sump if you have one. That way you could keep the bio filtration capability without the unappealing look.

yeah... no sump LOL. Well maybe I could put them in the second chamber of my 29 gallon biocube instead of bioballs but all I need is like 2 piees of LR to seed dry rock when I buy it; the rest of the LR I don't need

The problem is that a lot of people are realizing that they don't need to start with a whole tank full of live rock and so base rock is becoming more popular.
You could try selling it by the lb or even piece so ppl could use it to seed their tanks. You could get more $$ this way too.

...Wow that's quite disappointing... but what's done is done (tries to contain anger :angry::angry:...) Wait a minute what? I look practically everywhere and 25 lbs is usually about $75 AT LEAST... well I'm not surprised i got ripped off but probably since I just went and got it at the store
