You dont have to move it or cut the dying branches/ heads off

LPS branching type corals often have 1 or 2 dead heads and the others are OK
Sometimes new heads branch off from the side of the dead head

you do need to know what caused this - as knowing that will help prevent other heads going the same way

    questions
1 - has it fallen off the rocks? landed face down in the sand? that happened to a torch of mine many years ago and I lost 2 heads due to that
2 - have you added top up water directly over the top of it ?- shock can also do this
3 - as above, when water changing has any of the new water been poured on top of this coral?
4 - was it handled correctly when you purchased it, was it fully deflated before being liften and bagged?

the last question is becuase if these things are not handled with care when partially inflated the skin can get punctured

    thanks Steve,

4 - was it handled correctly when you purchased it, was it fully deflated before being liften and bagged?

the last is what did it I am guessing. They waved their hand in front of it, then picked it up and bagged it. it wasn't completely deflated.

I had done my water change before I got it. Not due for another until Thursday this week. But thanks for letting me know not to let the new water hit it.
I normally wait a week to see if it likes its spot, then once I figure that out then I glue it down.
