over flow prob!

    The one i made has a very small hole i drilled and put a small hose on it so i can get the sifen started.

    I am willing to bet you have an air bubble in there and its slowing your flow.

    I hope so Clear pvc would be better. If anything just to rule that out.

    Without breaking the siphon any worse, stick a piece of airline hose in their and move it around while sucking on the opposite end. This should help to clear out any air bubbles in the U.

    In my last post I referred to using a venturi power head to solve this problem but that's kind of hard to do since you made the U tube.

    hopefully the hole is at the very top of the overflow tube. attach an aqualifter to the airline tube to suck out the air. good idea to run one constantly on an overflow to avoid floods down the road. if you have any leaks in the overflow air could get in and cause the issue down the road.

    If it's airtight and you can get all the air out then it should work. 250 gph may not be enough to push the air out. 600 gph is in a 1" tube once you get most of the air out.

    I think i myt of figged out my prob. I think the outside the tank box is not long enough. not enough pull. What do you guys think. O and i am going to do the aqua lifter for my sifen. That was a great idea. Ty

    Well like I said - Trying pushing a air line hose into the U and then siphoning (sucking out the air bubble). If the siphon of the U tube/drain starts to pull better, then you probably need the airlifter.
