overflow help

    3 days ago I made the mistake of placing a post in the wrong thread
    (my bad) so im going to finish it here.

    I have an over flow for my 72 bow thats pretty loud ecspecially when Im tryng to sleep. this is the overflow...

    what modifications can I do? tomarrow Im just going to bike down to home depot get my parts and finally be able to sleep.

    yeah, ive read forum pages that said there bad and there nitrate sponges, but i took it out and it was like niagra falls. but ya its yellow/orange

    the sponges aren't too bad as long as you stay on top of cleaning them out. what is the gph of the overflow compared to your return pump?

    if the spong is out that's the problem. I have that same overflow. with the spong in mine it purs but with it out like you said niagra falls!

    the return is a rio2500+ so gph is 2500 i think. the overflow keeps up but i dont know the gph of it.

    I believe that is the 800gph overflow you have.

    I have that one as well. Just need to add a valve to control the output and it'll all quiet down.
