overflow idea

    The best picture I see is on page 27 by a guy named Wrang. See the two "U" bends on bottom, the longer they are the better (more powerful)suction you will have. But you have to make sure the one in the tank is the same length as the one on the outside. Also note the "T" is as low as it can be. Mine is just like this and works great.. I'll post a pic of my previous overflow which was full of FAIL..

    i hooked mine up today and fiddled with the return for about 5 minutes and it ran flawlessly for 3 hours. i took a few pics but they suck. i'll post them tonight.

    alright, as promised, here are the pics. first and foremost i must admit that it is hard to take a picture that showcases an overflow. hopefully you can make sense of this.

    i built an overflow box/surface skimmer out of a Lee's Specimen box. the white intake reaches about two inches lower than my external T. this allows the system to start and start if the power goes out (only tested twice, twice successful).

    oh, this is made of 1/2 and has about a 4foot difference with my sump. my Maxijet 1200 is matched almost perfectly with it.
