Hey Double2mk, is your tank(90g) set up already or this is for a near future set up? Luna

I am converting it from a Cichlid tank, (Packing Fish up today), to my new SW/Reef. I will transfer the contents of mt 12 month old 46 gallon.

The tank is not reef ready, ie, not drilled. I want to go with Sump type setup this time around and lose the HOB equipment

Im a little confused. Why are you worring about OFB's when you can just drill the tank? Luna

    Luna, Luna, Luna.
Clearly you have not been following my madness over the last week and the reason for this thread.

I have a 90 gallon FW that I am converting to a 90 SW. Not being drilled, I started looking into HOB overflow vs drilling vs buying a new tank.

Long story short, I still dont know what I am going to do, but the FW 90 is being cleaned out as I type.

When I returned the fish today at the LFS, I noticed a Megaflow 110 that will fit my stand. So now I am leaning that way..

Never glue any of the plumbing in a OF chamber in case you need to get them out for some reason.

I was following, just didnt understand why you would use a OFB when you had the opportunity to drill it. Luna

    Well,
For newbee's, a HOB system is much easier to deal with. When the long term reefers say. "Just drill it" that doesn't always seem as easy as it is made out to sound.

From the research I have done, to Drill and DIY, will not save me that much $$ and I will have to live with the fact that it wont be NEW.

That said., I am upgrading to a new tank with overflow built in.

    cheers

    Well, I congratulate you.
Two things are constant for me,
1.) If it has water it will leak
2.) If it has electricity, I get zapped

If it ain't a 4barrel carb or a computer, it just ain't happenning.

I just assume get the new one and sleep at night knowing my DR isn't flooding out.

I tried. I looked at all the DIY, Drilling, cutting, ect, ect., at the end of the day, I want it to work best, not win a prize for being DIY king of the day.

    \Cheers
