Oysters in SW Aquarium

    What can anyone tell me about placing oysters in aquarium. Anyone have any luck?

    They prefer "dirty water", so if this is going in a reef tank, it's probably not a great idea. They also need a rock to attach too. I'll say this, they could be a great sump species as one individual is said to be able to filter 50 gallons of water per day.

    I think they require very nutrient rich conditions as in murky,kind of contradicts any benefit in having them ,that is if you are thinking they might be good for nutrient reduction.If they die from lack of food they would surely cause problems.
