SO the last few weeks my elegance, frogspawns, and hammers have not looked as great as they usually do. I thought it might be related to the warm weather and my tank going through some temp fluctuations between 78-82 and even reaching 84 one day. I also had an Alk overdose a couple months back and have been trying to get my CA and ALK levels more stable again where there has been some fluctuating with those as well. All my other corals look fine though including many sps and softies.

Well today when cleaning the walls I noticed some small cone shaped snails. Able to spot 2 of them and they look like baby astreas. I never had astrea snails but a couple months ago added about 10 to my CUC.

    1) Do astrea snails reproduce in our reefs where that could be what they are?
    2) If not are there any kind of parasitic snails that feed of lps, mainly euphyllia??

I think its important to mention that I can NOT find a snail on any coral just the tank walls for now. But I know how well certain critters can hide without close inspection.

Any pictures? They would really help!

Also, can you post your params? I always noticed my LPS doing porrly when my Magnesium is too low.

As far as the snails go, I'm pretty sure Astrea's will breed in a reef tank. I've had a bunch of collonista snails that sound similar to your description. Those are reef safe

Sounds like collonista snails. I only see mine at night. They look a little like an astrea, although usually a bit smoother.

They're likely more like Heliacus (sundial/box snails) if it's the snails that are affecting the corals negatively. There's a photo in the ID guide, but here's one a couple:

The conical operculum is the dead giveaway for ID-ing these critters:
