PC lighting

    How often would you replace the bulbs....heard they lose watts as they get used more....heard to watch for coral reaction but only have mushrooms at this point....

    with only mushrooms you probably wont have to replace them as much. Look for your shrooms not opening up in the light as far then replace them.

    another thing to watch for is algae - any light tends to lose its colour temp as it gets older and the reduced colour temperatures as we know are ideal for growing plants and algaes

    PC - every 9 - 12 months depending on light up time per day would be a general guideline

    They do not lose "watts", as that is a measure of electricity they lose the PAR output they once had... Drops rapidly at about 8 months or so.

    PCs lose their ummmmpf quickly. I would replace every six months. You can go longer with T5s......I don't like PCs.
