I have a 260 PC fixture on my tank and I'm gonna buy 2x250 MH pendants and i've heard from some people about how to acclimate my corals and stuff to the new light. Somebody told me to put like eggcrate on it and them remove some every week or something like that. I'm not sure how to do that. does anybody else have any ideas.

I went 6 hours a day for the first week then added 1 hour per week for the next 6 weeks. I had a tank years ago that I didn't do this too and I burnt/melted most of the corals. Good luck

As milfyn said, gradually increasing the photo period an hour per week will do just fine.
