Thanks for your suggestions. Yes I need to do more research and ask more questions before acting. I left the tank empty 30 days and thought this would cycle it completely. Then I added the live rock and then the fish. At present I have about 12lbs of live rock. I am running a Fluval 305. I have a 24" coralife compact florescent light. White bulb and blue blue. I will be getting skimmer this week. I know that the tank is small for the tang and my lfs store it was small, but seeing that the fish was the size of a quarter I feel that I can keep it for a couple of weeks. Once it starts growing I am going to trade the tang for something smaller like a wrasse or golby, like you suggest. I don't ever plan to have more than 4 fish in this tank because I want to get a carpet anemone for the clowns as soon as the tank is ready for one. I had a 75gal tank back in 1988 and have found that things have change a lot in 22 years. Thanks for your help and suggestions.

    Thanks again

My water is not green. Where my fluval 305 pumps the water into the tank and the blast hits the glass the algae is not growing. I can see the water is clear through the glass where there is no algae.

    Thanks

I feed once a day in the morning. I feed what the clowns like and what the tang likes. I put Nori on a clip for the tang and he spends the day nibbling at the rocks and sand where the algae is located.

    Thanks again.
