Hi, I just bought 2 peppermint shrimp. They only seem to come out of the cave at night. Are they nocturnal?

Yes they are night shrimp! Mine came out during the day when food was in the tank, but they are most up and awake during the night, same as most shrimp..

I've had some that will be very interesting and active in the day, I think it depends on the shrimp.

Well for one you just got them so yeah, they are going to be super shy and only come out at night, and two, like everyone else said they are nocturnal. You can coax them out during the day with food. Mine knows what the feeding tube is and will always come running for it as soon as it hits the tank.
