    Yes.

    Let it drop down to 8.2-8.4 and then try to keep it there.
    If it raised to 8.6 because of Kalk use, you may want to change your dosing habbits/concentration.

    right now my cal is about 300, i just dos the talk with some cal so it should start to lvl out now

    Once your pH gets down to 8.4 make it a point on getting your alkalinity up to stabilize that pH.

    Also, what type of buffers are you using thats bumping your pH up to 8.6?

    Not really Ph in and of its self means very little and then it depends on how you check it a test kit or meter ? Test kits are close at best and then again the time of the photo period makes a difference . But if you have a good Ph meter and the lights have been on for all day and its 8.6 all it means to me is you have a totally saturated oxygen level and your house is full of fresh or filtered air..

    i had a issues with my DKh a few week back,so i bump it up using baking soda but over looking the other stuff which in turn bump up the ph and drop the cal. And I couldn’t for the life of me remember the safe lvls to have my ph

    i am still using the kit for now but I am planning to get a meter soon. my tank is in a room that gets all the fresh air in the house , but the lights do not come on for about one more hour but i see what you are saying
