Thanks man. I appreciate it. I would wait until I get your T5s. How old is your tank?

    Testing

    Temp: 80
    pH: 8.2
    SG: NT
    NH4: 0.35 (d)
    NO2: 0
    NO3: 15 (i)
    PO4: Present (i)
    Combined Iodide/Iodine: NT
    Iodate: NT
    Ca: 440 (i)
    Mg: 1350 (d)
    dKH: 8.4 (d)

    Notes:

NH4: Decreased from 0.5. I am happy with that.

NO3: Increased. Still at a good number. The NH4 is being converted. No problems here.

PO4: Well, I lost my little color comparison chart. But I can remember the last result and this one was darker. So PO4 was present at about 0.5 I am thinking.

Mg: This is at the minimum I would ever want it. I am doing a WC tomorrow and will wait until that to do anything regarding additions.

dKH: Too low and decreasing. I am going to tweek this a bit tonight. It will affect my Ca and Mg but I am not going to worry about it. Ca can come down a little and if Mg increases, fine.

Plan/Action: I added some phosphate-E to bind the active phosphate. I added some Prime to inactivate the ammonia levels. I am going to raise dKH a bit (to 10) tonight and do a 25g WC tomorrow and retest dKH, Ca and Mg, then adjust accordingly.

All in all......looking good. My livestock is healthy and growing. The new Zoo rock has acclimated well and the wrasse is out and about in the mornings, then disappears in the afternoon around 3 or 4. It is active, playing and eating.

My 65W PC is starting to flicker. I figure it is a bad bulb, so I will probably buy two more to get me through till Christmas, when my T5s will be purchased.

Well, you are really borderline. If you do get an anenome, wait until you get your T5s and keep a really close eye on it. I, after reading about them, have become very leery. However, at the same time, they are one of the coolest liveforms you can put in your tank IMO. Pluses and Minuses!!!

Did a 20g WC this fine evening. Rechecked my dKH. Still 8.4. Going to adjust to 11 now. Then test Mg and Ca.

    New Additions

Well, I went to the LFS and picked up a few things on my way back from the Big City. I picked up a Kenya Tree frag and two peppermint shrimp. My mother ended up in the hospital last night with confusion and seizures:-[. So I figured this was the best way to ease stress. Buy fish stuff;). Now we'll see just how them thar shrimpies are with the apthasia.

Usually, my acclimations only last 20 minutes or so. I have not had trouble in the past ITO losing livestock, but this time I raised it to 45 min for the two, just for the heck of it. Best to get into good habits, as my acclimations have been seriously lacking.

I added 4.5 tsp. of Reef Builder last night. Levels this evening are:

    dKH: 11.4
    Ca: 420
    Mg: 1350

sorry about the mom getting ill man that sucks

Grats on the additions I ended up pulling the kenya tree out of my tanks and giving it all away or throwing it away was sick of dealing with the little ones popping up all over the place and keeping my zoas and paly's from opening

Hope your mom is doing OK. It's never easy when a parent goes to the hospital.

Thanks guys. Mom is doing better. Finally regained her faculties today but gave us a he!! of a scare (just found out). So she goes home today and I go see her tomorrow. ........and since I am still stressed.......On the way home, I may have to stop at the LFS in Silverdale this time. It was Tacoma yesterday. Silverdale is calling now. And I just got paid. Joooooooohhhhhhhnnnn. Hear them? Jooooohhhhhhhhhnnnnnnn. I must heed the cry.

And with the tank......the Kenya Tree looks better than it did yesterday. It is going to live. I had my doubts. My two peppermint shrimp are nowhere to be seen and the apthasia is still there. Hmmmmph. Oh well. Maybe they aren't hungry yet.
