Yes it is and yes you did. Pretty much right in the ballpark. Although I am not so much worried about the W/gal number. It seems low, but with all those T5s and reflectors, the fish are going to need sunglasses. The spectrum of light is going to be shifted toward the blue end a bit, with the daylight bulbs being 16 to 18K. Should be an interesting look. I like a blue tint to my tank.

Thats cool. I like blue as well. Makes the colors of the corals pop just ever so nicely.

    Sea Apple Addition

So the title says it all. I went to the LFS today, picked up some mud for my fuge, a bottle of about 3000 copapods, some phytoplankton and a Sea Apple (about the side of a baseball). So here are the pics to prove it.

.......and yes, I know they can kill a tank, so fair warning to all who want to purchase one of these. Fairly safe, but if you have, say, a trigger that likes to nip at it, the apple will release a toxin and level your aquarium.

And here is an off subject photo of our nightly pet that comes by to say HI and eat the cat food.

Ultra cool apple John!!! And cool little raccoon. You should go try to pet it. Have someone film you before you go try to pet it. Also, did ya name it Rascal? ;)

Rascal is good. Is that from a movie? Did I miss something else here?::);D. We have an adolescent racoon hanging around along with a momma and her three younins on the other side of the property. They have a rabbit hole they live in where they have taken about 10 to 15 of our plastic food containers over the year. We just found it.

Yeah, that reminded me of a time I was camping. There was a herd of cows that walked by now and again......and they were in the neighborhood. There was this certain cow that my friend dared me to go pet. "Just walk up to it", he said. I started to advance and that thing shot me the most evil look an animal ever could. I backed off. I have a feeling he had done this before. He never did tell me what that cow would have done.......but I didn't want to find out. He just had this S#$%eating grin on his face.

Rascal is a book about a little boy who finds a baby raccoon in the woods, takes it home, raises it, and becomes best friends with it. I cant believe you haven't read it. Laura Ingalls would be upset knowing your not familiar with Rascal's story.
So what exactly is the sea apple? does it move? LOL, I dont really know much about them. Very beatiful

I have yet to totally familiarize myself with it as well. I had a lengthy discussion with the owner of my LFS (Not Petco-----a Real LFS!!!) before purchasing it. Told him what I had, what my concerns were. I know it is pretty hardy. It opens up at the top and extends something that looks like a red Kenya Tree to filter feed with. It needs phytoplankton a couple of times a week. If you don't feed it, it will gradually wither away. You can gently pick it up and move it, but if there is repeated assault by fish ITO nipping, it will release a toxin which will kill your tank dead. Also, it does not require light, which is good. It does move around, the yellow specks on it are actually little suctions that it can pull itself along with, kind of like a starfish. When I put it into the tank, it was flat. It took time to inflate to the size it is now. In the second picture, you can see where the yellow "feet" come to a center point. That is a hole that opens and closes, presumably to let water in and/or out. Really cool. So that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
