Yeah...I will have to have my wife do alllllll the work on this one. She will remove the old lights, the canopy, then install the new lights. I can do no more than act as a balancer. No more than 10lbs says the doc. It's amazing how many things weigh more than 10lbs. A gallon of milk I think is 8.

Good thing I dont like milk. After she get's it set up can we see some cool pic's. I have a housekeeper but wont let her have anything to do with the tank so I put on the light's and did the rock work and stuff. I paid for it at night but it's all good. Let us see how it turn's out. That is a big step up from PC...I'm happy for ya man.......

Congrats on the new lights! Will be much better than just PC's. :)

How long are you going to be down where you can't lift?

Don't really know. I probably will graduate to 20lbs at end of month. I will not be able to play my drums for two more months at least. Too much speed and backlash. That is what I miss the most. I most likely will not be up to full throttle WRT that for six months to a year. I am really lucky that I have healed as well as I have. I cannot say enough about the skill of this doc. Incredible. Not going to do anything to mess it up......

That's good to hear- at least you are healing steadily and making progress! Go slow and you'll be back on your feet in no time. :)

Make sure to post pics of your new lights when you get them running. I saw the Tek 8x54 at one of the LFS in Tampa (they had it over their frag tank) - was very impressed.

    New Addition!!!

So, there have been some changes. I got the new lights (coming soon!!!), and am stepping up my flow with newly aquired Koralias (a three and a four). That will bring me up to about 55x, which is perfect in my book. Yippee!!!! So two problems have been solved this week.

I took the trap out of the tank for now. The coral beauty will stay another two weeks and then go back. She has finished off a rock of zoas and doesn't touch the mushroom coral unless she is starved. So I am feeding every other day. Just a little.

Went to the LFS for the first time in a few weeks and got a gorgonian. Pretty good sized for $50. Picked up some DT phytoplankton since my Oyster feast is about to expire. Told the wife I spent $40. I always chop it in half. Funny how that works. Seems I am not the only one that does that!!!

So here are some pics to prove that it is still up and running.....

So.....after 40 days (or so) of doing minimal work, it is still going strong. Boy am I happy it didn't crash.

The coral beauty ate your zoas???? Yikes! Funny thing - when we were picking out our coral beauty, the LFS had several to choose from. The LFS guy pointed to one in particular, who was in a tank with zoas, and said that one has been in there a while and has never touched that zoa. SOLD!

I think you (and your family) deserve extra K for your efforts while being "down," keeping the tank going, and especially for listening to the doc! I've seen too many cases where people didn't listen and ended up going back under the knife again....and again. Imagine going through that whole recovery routine all over!

No. If it's fed and it's happy, it stays in one place. It hasn't moved in six months.

Thanks!!! And good Lord no, I couldn't imagine going through this again....well anytime soon. Probably have to have another done in a year or two, but that is a long way off. Listening is a good thing.....but there were times I thought I would lose the tank from lack of care.
