Actually, I got it at the LFS. It wasn't 'blooming' nearly as much there, so I was pleasently surprised...........

I love these. Is it taking special care? Daily feeding or anything? I had read they need pretty strong light... I guess that isn't so?

    Looking real nice!

Honestly, I don't know about the lighting. My T5s are arriving in a week or so...so I bought it presuming I could keep it alive until that time. I feed phytoplankton every other day alternating with Oyster Feast. Wonderful coral. My wife thinks it's boring.....Pfffft.

Just got my Koralia-3 and Koralia-4 in today!!!! Thanks Danny (coldspot)!!!! I love trades that work out to a win-win situation.

So I am taking the opportunity to clean my two K-3s in white vinager. It is stinking up the kitchen right now.

So that will put my total DT flow right where I want it to be (50x).

Update: Macros coming in tomorrow (Wednesday) or the next and my new lights are getting dropped in the mail tomorrow as well. I cleaned my K-3s and they look as good as new. Run better too. It had been months. I just let them run in vinegar for about four or five hours and then cleaned up the casings. Two gallons of vinegar in a five gallon bucket housed two K-3 running no problem.

I also cleaned up my other PHs, but I am not going to put them back in the DT. Instead, I am buying two Koralia-Nanos for the back wall. I thought about K-1s, but I don't want too much flow. I am also going to get my other return in gear and add another 500GPH that way. With the three additions, my flow would be at 61x. Still kicking it around. The other little PHs are going in my Nano. Or one of them at least. I am only running about 35x there.

You sand is so ridiculously clean. It's an inspiration to me knowing that I have a chance of keeping mine that way too.

    Any tips?

Well, it's really not THAT clean. I have little diatom spots here and there. Been pretty lucky actually. Lately, I have been on a get the flow up kick. I think that helps a lot.

Cool, I'm sticking with my K1 and K2. I even have a K3 in a box because it was only $20 new at the LFS during a sale. Poor little clowns have to stick to the corner to rest until they get bigger :D

    Macros galore!!!!

So I get a package on my doorstep today!!!

Oooooooo. I know what this is!!!! So I look inside......

And I am not dissappointed in what I see. I have my grape caulpera, ulva and chaeto. I also have a little sea fan, some star grass (just a little sample pack) and two other macros I cannot remember ordering. The purple macro and the green macro (that looks like tenticles). An ID would be very cool (and appreciated). My penny macro was some fern caulpera, which was nice.....it goes with the FC I already have.

So I floated the chaeto and ulva, and planted the rest in the mud. The sea fan and star grass went into the DT. The idea is to have one part of the sea floor as a garden of sorts. Just experimenting for now. Will get the hang of it soon.

The sea grass is to the right in a little patch. I am going to order one or two more (eventually) to really get it going. I am looking to get this tank as diverse as possible. Hopefully, the end result won't be something completely cheeseball.

I like this pic. The sea fan is at the entrance to the cave. I caught my hungry, hungry hippo coming out at an opportune time. Yes, the chili coral is dirty. I will PH it in the next few days. It does bloom at night still, so the debris does not impede it's attempt at feeding.

A top down shot of my 12"x12" fuge. I have three balls of chaeto, three grape caulpera, lots of fern caulpera, that green tenticle thing, that purple thing and three ulva living in there. It is full.

FTS. I had to aquascape to create a place to put the star grass. So the rock in back center climbs higher than before. I moved around about 30% of the corals to accomodate.

So now I have my added flow, my added macro, some new aquascaping, the addition of an undersea garden (just a start) and my new lights on the way. The TEKs should be here by next week (Wednesday perhaps). I have some bulbs coming in from DFS and am going to buy a few ATI and Giesemann bulbs to play with colors. I am shooting for about 16000K in 'daylight'.

When all is good with the nitrates and phosphates (and my lighting is in place), I am getting an anemone for the clown to host. Then, when it grows bigger, a mate will follow. Life is good.

    Peace.......John.

Looking good bro. Congrats on the new arrivals. I went to my LFS today and went impulse crazy as well. I got a pair (that I belive will make great mates) of black true misbar percula clowns and a few new coral pieces.

What kind of anemone are you looking at getting. I was considering getting one, but I am still afraid it will wonder the tank and hurt my coral. So I got some frog spawn and long tentical coral in the hopes my clowns will host in them when they get bigger.
