Well, it was early when you posted. Evil early. Before dawn early. My tank is 18" wide and the Tek is 19". So we're only talking one-half inch front and back.

So one of the boxes of lights came in today. I have two boxes of lights expected. The new ones which will end up being used and a bunch of old ones Craig threw in for good measure (Thanks Craig!!!;D). The old ones came in today. There were six of them. I was told that some of them may not work and three of the six did not. But that is OK.

I had, in the fixture, two new UVL Superactinics and one old Superactinic. The odd man out did not work because there was no bulb in it's mated slot.

Here is a pic of the tank for starters (with the old PCs 6x55W)

Here is a pic with the Tek lighting (2x54W Superactinics)....

The three bulbs that ended up working were a 460nm and two UVL 50/50. So right now, I have....

**Three UVL Superactinics (two new, one old)
    **One UVL 460nm actinic (old)
**Two UVL Actinic White (12000K) bulbs (old)

Here is a pic of the tank with as many bulbs as I can put in at present. Right now it is a 6x54W with the above bulbs up and running.....

The corals are closed up because I had the lighting off for awhile. I don't expect them to look as good as they will in a few days when I get the good T5s in place. It does not look this blue to human eyes....the camera picks up on the color a little differently. But either way.....to me, it looks great. I am sooooo happy.

When all is said and done, I will run

    **4x UVL Superactinic
    **2x UVL 75/25 (14000K)
    **2x UVL Actinic White (12000K)

    I will adjust from there......

    Peace.......John.;D

You may want to wear shades or at least get some react to light glasses , while you adjust to this new light scheme - its gonna be bright

Yeah....the livestock is definitely going to have to get used to it. I am going to run as is for a few more hours, then just run a 'ramp up' program for them over the next couple of weeks. Don't wan't to sunburn them!!!!!

Get the suntan and speedo out dude! No need to go to the beach! :p

Seriously, congrats. How long have you been wanting the TEK now, at least 3 months? It's going to improve that tank so much.
But seriously, that can't be the last piece. No item ever is ;) Whats next? ACIII? CA reactor? Bigger sump/fuge? Ozone? I know in the least we should be seeing some more advanced corals soon! Gonna try SPS?

Well, I have been thinking about the ACIII. That is will probably be next. I was thinking the Jr., but I want ozone control also. CA reactor? Probably not for another year, unless I get into SPS heavily. Bigger sump/fuge? My 20 long is going great. If I upgrade that, it will be to a 30g standard. Ozone? I really want ozone. But I will need the ACIII first, so this is in a few years.

My wife asked me if this was the last major piece of equipement. I said yes. It is what she wanted to hear......So I save up a little at a time and get things very slowly!!!!

And I have been waiting for that TEK for seven or so months now. Not from Craig, just in general.....
