The one that i use takes water from my sump via a pump and the returns the water to my sump.

This is what i use Two Little Fish PhosBan Reactor 150 and i have had zero issues.

The setup that i have is actually two of them one with phosban media and the other with carbon. water goes in the first with phosban then into to second with carbon finally returning to the sump.

Hope that helps and isnt to confusing.

you could possibly run a dedicated power head from your tank to the phosphate reactor and back to your display. all depends on what you have (set up) and what your gonna buy.
email me and id be happy to walk you through it.

You can hand the 2 Little Fishies reacter on your tank. Drive it with a little Rio pump, like a Rio80, and have the drain go back into your tank. I think it uses 1/2" ID tubing. I have one too, but haven't gotten around to setting it up yet. :p

P.S. You can run mixed media in it, like part phosban and part carbon instead of getting 2 dedicated reactors.

i think the easiest way would be one pump deticated to the reactor. Have the intake in the sump and outake return to the sump. You dont need anything fancy, just water running throught the reactor.

True statement however it is my expierence that carbon needs to be replaced more frequently so this just makes it easier and quicker for me.

You could run rowaphos in a canister filter. Some people run a mix of carbon and rowaphos in a canister. People use much more carbon than rowaphos because carbon needs to be changed more often, but by using less rowaphos and changing it out with the carbon, not much will be wasted.
