I am not 100% sure there is an optimum water flow required , I dont have a reactor, but I do have 2 different Phosphate media at home and neither my Antiphos (GFO) or my Phosgaurd packagings have any ideal water through put advice

Fluidized Bed reactors should just kind of bubble at the surface of the media. you don't want so much flow that the media shoots up into the tube. The ball valve can be used to control flow. (Rinse media well)

As Inwall said, defintely rinse the media well! When I change the media, after I turn the pump back on, I put a bucket beside the tank and just put the tubing coming out of the reactor into the bucket until it runs clear, then just drop the tubing back into the sump.

I set mine to a "rolling boil" - where it's just bubbling up.

thx guys thats what I want to know, i set it to a rolling boil effect but not going crazy like a carbon reactor. Ill see how this works, i heard lowest flow possible so i set it to like halfway were it was trickling very fast.

Go on bulkreefsupply.com They have a video on there GFO and carbon reactors. They show you how much "tumbling" is ideal for the GFO (phosphate) media. You'll see what Inwall is talking about.. Its some good information..
