Phosphate remover

    i just put PURA phoslock in my tank.

    it is a phosphate remover for reef tanks.

    should i be putting this in my tank. i have a lot of hair algae.

    I would say go with a reactor from BRS & some GFO. Give you more long term options, then you can run carbon later, or whatever else with it. More costly but like I said I like long term potential.

    It may help with phosphates as long as you are not introducing them in significant numbers to the tank.

    What is your phosphate value? Try to keep it under 0.05 ppm. RO/DI water only for water changes and top off.

    Also make sure you have the correct ID on the algae.

    I got mine unit on ebay for a fairly reasonable price. I know alot of reefers have mixed feelings about equipment from ebay, but rodi units are pretty universal on parts so I would agrue the advantages of a brand name over ebay. The stampings on my canisters match the ones sold by lowe's.
