did it lower any of your parameters? nitrates? phosphate and how long did it take?

you put both the algone and the chemipure at the same time or do you mean on separate ocations you have used them both? wich one do you like the best

O.k. I used the Algone to primarily keep Nitrates in check. Using it in my 55 gal. it kept them at 20 ppm. I added Halimeda to the tank and once it grew enough it sucks up all the Nitrates much like Cheato. When that happened I could stop using the Algone. The Chemipure Elite was put in after this as I have some chemical war fare going on and my Cabbage Coral was "stressed" and shedding a lot so it was recommended to use it to help with the toxins. Both can be used together however and should make a good combination. Remember though, you want the flow through the Chemipure to be moderate, not so fast that it can't do its' job.

so chemipure wont take care of nitrates? do you think if i put it in the skimmer box of my remora it would be fine? my only other choice is the eheim canister and that has 295gph i think it would be too much. This wont stress my fish out will it?

Sorry for the delay, I believe you can run the Chemipure in a canister I think it said toward the top (compartment). The Chemipure removes phosphates and silicates, how well will be determined by using it and testing. I'm not sure why you think it would stress you fish? It is improving water quallity. With the reactor, av, I get zero phosphates.

i put it in the remora skimmer box, it clouded up the water even though i rinsed it. phosphates are almost not detectable i had about 1ppm before. i took it out of the bag it came in and put it into a seachem "the bag" because it wouldnt fit in the box.

I tried Pura complete, it worked very well with phosphates, and silicates. Was buy water from LFS, and their filters must have been bad. Now I'm ordering my own RO/DI because of this. I'm not happy, and don't believe in using things like Pura, because if the water was good in the first place, and I feed right, I shouuldn't have these problems. Cheers!

I would use a maxijet 900 and follow the directions on the rowaphos. Do you have a valve to throttle the pump back?

Hi, what size reactor (for what size tank) did you buy? The pump should be just powerful enough to create a "gentle tumble" of the media.
