I just went to my lfs and saw something quite odd. he calls them picasso clown fish and they look like mutated false perculas. Has anyone ever seen these before and if so whats the deal with them just freaks of nature or a strange rare breed? The only differece i noticed was the lines on their sides are like p's instead of a squiggly lines. They were quite pale orange in color like most false perculas at the LFS but he had them at $130 each and if you wanted a pair well good luck not breaking the bank.

    just curious thats all

I have a pair of Picasso clowns. They are clown fish, bred to have those markings. Once grown, they can be absolutely stunning!

Thanks!! I love them. It's so fun watching them interact. Here are some pictures of mine. Ignore that GHA. I can't remove it because they are hosting in it! ::) Also, mine are very young. As they mature, the black grows.

Yeah, very interesting!! LOL I added an MP40 and all the GHA has died, except that one spot. I'm hoping it lives for them!! They love it so much.

They look great! I love their "picasso" markings, imo they are the best looking clowns.

As said, the Picasso clowns are bred by ORA, they are rarer b/c only so many offspring show the markings that distinguish them from other clowns. I got my from my lfs for a trade. He was going for $60. They are lighter b/c they are tank bred. Here's a pic.

very interesting... althought they are very unique i think they are alittle out of my price range for a fish, and my false perculas would get jealous. Nice pictures of all the fish too thanks for the clairification!
