Haha way overkill!! I think one little par30 from boost would be more than enough for anything.

depends on the dimensions of the tank, if its more cube like the panorama will hang way over the sides and there will be alot of light bleeding into the room.

true that. i guess the par30 would be the way to go. the spotlight effect would fit the 2.5 perfectly

Ya, I think that's the route I am going to go! Hopefully this tank becomes a reality!

+1 for the par30 or panorama pro. Do not currently have them on my tank but I am trying to decide which one. I have a JBJ picotope (3 gallons) That I take back and forth from college with me every 5 or so months and have had absolutely no problems thus far. A good ATO system is a definite must, especially if it is going to be in your office. I might suggest a slightly larger freshwater reservoir, depending on where you live these things can loose a surprisingly large amount of water.

So, I think I am going to go for it (pending manager, and officemates, approval. Shouldn't be a problem but I figure it'd be better to ask).

My plan of action: First I am going to pick up the tank and see how the equipement i have looks on it. If it doesn't seem to work right, I'll just replace my main tanks ATO reservoir with it.

If everything looks good, I'll wait for my coral to grow out a bit on my main tank, and get some tiny frags started. Then I'll cycle the tank @ home using live rock (used base rock for my other tank. Figured I'd be interesting to see what type of hitch hikers I get using all live). Once everything looks good, I'll move it to work, attach frags, and go from there.

Can't bring it to work until it's looking good :p

Think I'm going to go for it:

    Basic set up:

That's all the equipment... excluding the light. Painting the back as well (black).

If I can find some cheap live rock locally I might start cycling it soon. Light is still a ways out yet.

I have decided that I want this to be based entirely off my own frags. So I'm putting the project on hold, turning this tank into my ATO reservoir, and stocking up on zoas/shrooms so I can frag them @ the end of summer and start this tank. I started thinking, and starting it now would A. be bad with all my vaca this summer, and B. require me to buy new frags since what I have hasn't grown out enough to cut it up... yet :p

I want to get the Par30's as well. Which is a big part of my decision to wait. Too much I want to do to my main display tank to justify the money on the bulb/lamp for a while. I'm def still excited about this idea (and there will be a build thread lol) but I think using all my own frags will be a cool way of doing this tank.
