    Welcome to 3reef.

Go to the Liveaquaria link I posted in the above thread and check out the Gobies, you're a better judge of what it looks like than us relying on the image.

Tiger pistols are not choosy when it comes to pairing up with gobies.

Congrats though because it's a fascinating relationship to behold.

It is 100% what Vinny posted. I've checked Liveaquaria and every site I could think of and no one has it or any pictures, so I assume there is no name for it.

Well the thing with gobies is that 1: yeah I am sure there are a lot collected that are not for sale commonly and therefore it's hard to get an accurate ID. 2: Fish so often show different coloration under different conditions, ie: acclimation, stress, hiding, night/day.... that your fish may just be displaying a slight variation.

This is all true but there are many ways to correctly I.D. them if you know what to look for.Counting dorsal rays and fin shapes is a fairly simple way of narrowing it down.Gobies and Damsels in general are difficult to I.D. but it can be done. He's cool .....

Yes, he's got blue mostly on the face and orange spots elsewhere and an outline tail with orange. He's really, really cool. They had a bunch of these guys mixed with other watchman Gobies. My only concern is how big he would get. He's currently in a Nuvo 16. I also have a Biocube 29, but that tank is full.

My I.D. could be wrong but the Shrimp Gobies in general have the same habits/needs.Maybe you can get a couple more shots of it??
